Given that I quite often get some serious cravings for spicy and delectable cuisine, it didn't take long to be seized by a Szechuan craving whilst spending time in San Diego. A quick search said that this was one of the good places to hit up for a delicious spicy experience.

Parking was initially a nightmare, but enough laps around the parking lot ultimately get you a spot. It's the determination that counts after all. And sure the initial appearance of the place may catch you off guard, but it's the aroma of all the food that emanates that really throws a leash around you and pulls you in.

Once inside, I had three dishes - the dan dan noodles, the hot sauce fish, and the garlic snow peas. I just want to preface that I thought that this combination of dishes really broadcasted an eclectic blend that worked with my palate. The dan dan noodles were a little different than my initial perceptions, not as spicy, but definitely incorporated more of a savory flavor that gave it a more subtle flavor.

The hot sauce fish on the other hand, definitely was a treat to the mouth. A perfect blend of spice and well cooked fish, hot enough to give you a nice kick, but not too overpowering. When that was worked together with the garlic snow peas (which notably are cooked very well), it's a perfect blend of spice, rice, and then a vegetable cover that completes the wholly taste. I would absolutely come back here and try more of the dishes - it left a great impression for a Szechuan experience.
